Our signature bottling and the definitive Bruichladdich. Showcasing the classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style, The Classic Laddie is made from 100% Scottish barley, trickle distilled, non-chill filtered and coloring free.

CHARACTER

Clean, fresh and lively. The oak and the grain work in perfect harmony.

Summer barley

NOSE

Barley sugar and a hint of mint open before moving into freshly cut wild flowers; buttercup, daisy, meadowsweet, myrtle, primrose and cherry blossom. Delicate zephyrs of spindrift and sea pinks are a reminder that this spirit is matured exclusively beside the sea. Over time, and with the addition of a little water, caramelised fruit notes come to the fore, with hints of lemon drops, honey, tangerine and tablet.

PALATE

Refined and refreshing, sweet oak and barley notes come together in perfect harmony. Ripe green fruits, brown sugar and sweet malt follow, showcasing the remarkable flavor of the Scottish barley used in this single malt.

FINISH

Smooth and well rounded, the finish showcases the elegant balance between the sprightly, vibrant fruit and the subtle sea-spray notes.

Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014

Celebrate the purest expression of terroir with Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014. Fully traceable and high provenance, a medley of apricot and peach complements the cereal-forward single malt, with a subtle maritime note nodding to the whisky’s all Islay harvest, distillation and maturation.

CHARACTER

The epitome of our island home, the spirit of Islay runs through this single malt. The unique locale, temperate climate and soils of the island have shaped the barley grown and harvested for this expression. The depth, complexity and balance of flavors combine to create a unique drinking experience – evoking a true sense of place.

COLOR

Pale gold.

NOSE

Delicate floral notes along with sweet malt and ripe grain open on the nose. Hints of pepper and soft spices follow before the dram reveals soft stoned fruits and creamy vanilla. Creamy vanilla, a hint of coconut, butterscotch, and brown sugar come from the oak, alongside delicate notes of nutmeg and hazelnut. Fruit notes continue to open, with fragrant peach, honeyed melon, pear drops and warm banana bread.

PALATE

Creamy vanilla and lemon are immediate on the palate, with a peppery nutmeg spice giving way to sweet malt, warm porridge and popcorn. The depth of flavor and creamy, viscous texture is typical of our Islay barley style, with the natural oils from the barley enhanced with layers of sweet citrus, tropical fruit and fragrant peach. The combination of American and French oak makes for a beautifully balanced expression, with a drop of water bringing out subtle marine notes.

FINISH

Sweet, stoned fruits settle on the palate with creamy vanilla custard and a touch of coconut, while a delicate floral note lingers.

Charlotte 10

10 AGED YEARS

Port Charlotte 10 year old is conceived, distilled, matured and bottled only on Islay. Made from 100% Scottish barley, it is trickle distilled through tall, narrow-necked stills for a balanced, heathery style of barbeque smoke.

CHARACTER

Ageing for 10 years on the shores of Loch Indaal has had a profound effect on this spirit. Like sunshine on a winters day, this Port Charlotte 10 brings clarity and lightens the mood, welcoming and brightening the future.

COLOR

Primrose to Citrine

NOSE

The smoke is calmed by the marine, ozone character. While the smoke is always discernible on the nose it is dry and earthy in its style, allowing the oak to come forward with waves of golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of ginger, nutmeg and clove. There is citrus fruit, coaxed from the glass with a drop of water, gentle lemon meringue and clementine. Breathe deeply and the floral aromas of wild thyme, heather and sea pink transport you to the Atlantic coast.

PALATE

On the palate there is a noticeable delicacy and softness in texture and style. Again, the balance of flavor is superb as the smoke wraps loosely around the sweetness drawn from deep within the oak. Coconut, vanilla custard and lemon honey combines with smoked oysters and sun baked salty sand.

FINISH

The finish is sublime. Smoky, sure, but with the soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley. Orange, mango and Banoffee pie signal the depth and quality of the oak. The many layers interchange on each sip. As the smoke comes and goes so too do the notes of ripe apple and apricot, beautifully intertwined with malt and oak sweetness and that typical Port Charlotte style dry smoke.
